I want to share some Christmas cards that do not use Christmas sets. Intrigued?
Last year I shared a Santa made with punches. This year I am featuring a snowman made of punches.
The base of this card is 1/4 sheet of real red cardstock. The hat is 2" x 4" black cardstock and the hat brim is 1" x 4 1/4" black cardstock trimmed with the white gel pen. Eyes are layered half circles ( 1 1/4" for the bottom white layer and 1" black for the top layer). The nose is also a layered half circle. (1 3/8" for the bottom white layer and 1 1/4" for the top only orange layer.) The mouth is 1/2" circles from basic black cardstock. The flowers are the flower trio punch from real red cardstock.
This is a great way to make a winter card without having to own a Christmas or winter set.
This is also another great card using the Under the Star set. You can use any Christmas set that you have that has a Christmas hat (or for Halloween a witches hat or birthday presents from a birthday set) and turn another set into a Christmas set. This card features the Sock Monkey Accessories but Crab and Company also has a Santa hat. Punch pals stamp set has a great top hat.
Cardstock: old olive, real red, chocolate chip, whisper white
ink: basic brown, basic black, real red, close to cocoa and certainly celery markers
Accessories: large oval punch, key tag punch, 1/8" circle punch, dimensionals, real red gross grain
Stamp sets can be very versatile. Check all of your stamp sets so you can mix and match them.
Notice how we layered the key tag punch. The bottom and top layer are the same size. We just cut the bottom layer in half and attached it to the top layer.
Thanks to my friend Lynne Miller for bringing this card for me to complete.

Stacey, great job with the bear, push that hat down a tad to completely change the demeanor of the bear -- check out my version at www.stampwithdee.blogspot.com/2008/11/grumpy-goes-grinning.html
