At Convention one of our make n takes was a cute little box that had a ribbon rosette on it. I decided that I wanted to recreate the rosette on a card. This month's class featured this card. It's not difficult to make your own rosette.
To make one start with 11" of wide ribbon. I used SU's 1 1/4" pink pirouette gross grain ribbon. Stitch along the edge of the ribbon making sure your stitches are no farther than 1/4" apart. Pull thread and gather ribbon into a circle to firm a rosette and then knot thread. Stitch ends of ribbon together. Apply a thin strip of 2 way glue or crystal effects to the edge of the ribbon. (I did this step in phases.) Sprinkle with chunky glitter. Let dry. I adhered the ribbon rosette to the card with 2 pop-up glue dots.
In the center of the flower is a clear button. I adhered some Bella Rose Designer Series paper (punched out with my 1" circle punch) to the button with glue stick. The button is adhered to the ribbon rosette with a pop up glue dot. I then used crystal effects or 2 way glue to adhere the half pearl from the pretties kit to the center of the button.
The card base is Pink Pirouette cardstock with a small flower from Eastern Blooms stamped in Pink Pirouette ink. A strip of Bella Rose Designer series paper and Pink Pirouette wide gross grain ribbon are adhered to the card base.
Why don't you get out your ribbon and make one too! Be sure to share your creations!
