Have you ever felt like your scrapbook papercraft projects should take center stage? I mean we put so much work into them, you want everyone to enjoy them as much as you do. Well then you need to make a Flip-Up album. These albums fold down into a 6" x 6" book but when opened up they flip up and out and make a nice scrapbook centerpiece.
I started making these albums and I am having trouble stopping! It is a great way to celebrate a birthday, Valentines Day, or graduation. I made one to highlight our trip to Maine last year! It was a great way to highlight our week-long trip in 8 pages.
These albums are not to be confused with star albums. You can see the difference by looking at the top view. When you open the album up (and tie it off) it just sets up nicely by itself. It has 4 different sides (or spreads) in which you can tell your story. It reminds me alot of a doll house with 4 different rooms.
This one is my square style. I also make a diamond style which uses less paper.
The side panels or spreads can be decorated many different ways. This style has a place to put a picture, poem or journal and a separate pull out section to also decorate. You may chose to decorate the bottom panel or not. You are only limited by your own creativity!
For the one shown here I used Cutie Pie Designer Series paper and soft subtles cardstock. I also cut out some flowers from the Cutie Pie and put them on the round tab punch with some soft subtles brads. (It looked like I had matching die cuts.) I used purely pomegranate stitched ribbon to tie it all off.
Here is one of the diamond styles. Can you tell that it makes a diamond on the bottom?
I'll be posting more of these creations in the next couple of days. Let me know if you like them as much as I do!
This will be one of the projects I will featuring in class this spring. If you can't make it to my class, see my offer at right to bring the class to you.

I like what you did
